Bathrooms

John's Primary Bathroom Remodel

A complete reconfiguration. The shower and vanity changed places, the doorway was widened, the soffits were removed, and the storage was rebuilt.

Location

Johnson County, KS

Documented
Completed primary bathroom with a glass shower, rustic wood door, sage-green walls, white wainscot and red towel
The completed full-room layout with custom glass shower and wood door.

The challenge

The existing shower sat in a smaller enclosed area that broke up the room, while soffits and a narrow doorway made the bathroom feel tighter than its actual footprint.

The result

A reconfigured primary bathroom that makes far better use of the same footprint, finished in tile, shiplap, wainscoting and custom trim.

Scope of work

  • Existing shower removed; the former shower area became the new vanity
  • New custom shower built where the left vanity had been
  • Doorway widened
  • Soffits removed
  • Custom closet and storage rebuilt
  • Tile, shiplap, wainscoting, and custom trim
